Handmade in Scandia MN from American waxed canvas, Two Oaks goods are functional, durable and HANDSOME. Katie Faragher makes messenger bags, totes, diaper bags and especially clever lunch sacks that are a pleasure to carry and use.
Katie says, “Waxed canvas, or ‘tin cloth’ is tough wearing and waterproof. Wax fabrics have been widely and successfully used by workers, explorers, and outdoorsmen for many years. Like leather, it develops a certain ‘patina’ with wear and tear. The particular fabric I use is woven here in the US with cotton that has been coated in non-hazardous, environmentally friendly wax in a process perfected in the 1930’s.”

For the holiday season, Al has been busy supplying galleries with new work. In the Twin Cities, find Al’s glass at FOCI-Minnesota Center for Glass Arts in Minneapolis and The Grand Hand in St. Paul. South of the Cities, visit Austin ArtWorks; north of the Cities, visit Gustaf’s Galleries in Lindstrom.
Until Christmas, Al’s Glass Showroom is open in Center City EVERY FRIDAY 3-8pm and SATURDAY 10am-3pm: shop handblown glass, handmade prints and wood pallet goods from local makers!
November 14: the Showroom will be open AND Al will participate in the Annual Artisans & Friends Show at the Taylors Falls Depot.
Later in November, we’ll welcome two local makers for a pair of trunk shows at the Showroom – Happy Shopping!!
